Beside the pristine Marcum park, a large building has risen over the past few months, a new building block in the blueprint of downtown Hamilton. The Marcum Apartments promises to be a luxury apartment living experience while also bringing more businesses to town as part of its urban structure that includes both living spaces and small businesses.
Those who choose to live in the Marcum will have walking access to the Great Miami Bike Trail, the Fitton Center for the Creative Arts, as well as the shops and restaurants of High Street and Main Street. The view of the river right nearby is not bad either.
These apartments were conceived as a way to make it more possible for more people to be a part of the revitalization of downtown Hamilton. After a successful project in Loveland, OH that incorporated some similar businesses, the developers saw an opportunity in Hamilton.
The apartments are set to open in mid-to-late July, and will feature luxury amenities. According to Rachel Davis, who works in marketing for the Marcum, “The Marcum apartments are spacious units with balconies, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, walk in closets, private garages available for rent, and a rooftop social space for tenants.”
From balconies and the roof, tenants will have a good view of the river, the Marcum park, and the Riversedge concert series. As an homage to Alexander Hamilton, the various kinds of units inside the Marcum will each be named after one of his sons: McCord, Patton, Cooper, and Hunt! Given the nearby statue of Hamilton on High Street, it only makes sense to tie back into his history and the town’s name.
Though it is new construction, the Marcum apartments will continue the recent trend toward revitalizing downtown and making it a fun and exciting place to live, work, and play.
“Since more people are beginning to move to Hamilton for work, to raise a family, or just to generally engage with the community, it’s crucial to provide places for them to live,” Davis said. “The commercial space opening in The Marcum will also attract people downtown. How perfect will it be to have places to eat and socialize during the many events in the summer at the park and River’s Edge!”
Those businesses, at least at this point, will include Tano’s Bistro, the Casual Pint, and Revive Salon, making socializing and relaxing easy just downstairs from the upper floors of apartments. With 102 residential units of 1, 2, or 3 bedrooms, the apartments will provide a much needed increase in downtown rental spaces.
While many units are leased already, pre-lease information for the 12 month leases still available is on the website, cmcproperties.com/the-marcum. The leasing office for the Marcum is iconic, as they renovated a 1975 Airstream trailer to create it; being mobile allows them to park near events and give people information about the apartments as excitement builds. Keep an eye out for it at Hamilton events and chat with them about the progress on the complex.
