- The Almond Sisters – Best Bakery in 2017
- Between the almond twists, thumbprint cookies, and geodes, it’s no wonder The Almond Sisters has won Best Bakery twice by Cincinnati A-List since its opening. Located in the middle of downtown right next to the Alexander Hamilton statue, this little bakery brings a delicious hometown vibe to the city.
- Marcum Park – Great Public Spaces in America
- In late 2018, the American Planning Association named Marcum Park one of only five Great Public Spaces in America. Since the area was largely unused prior to the park’s installation, the bounding greenery and addition of the splash pad have been a big hit amongst Hamilton residents.
- Thyssenkrupp Bilstein– 2017 Employer of the Year Award
- One of Hamilton’s top employers was awarded the 2017 Employer of the Year award by the Ohio Governor’s Council on People with Disabilities. Thyssenkrupp partners with Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities on a job development program offering employment in various places throughout the company.
- Pastor Shaq – Hamilton Citizen of the year 2018
- The city is full of ambitious individuals, but Pastor Shaq (Rev. Shaquila Mathews) is on a whole new level. In 2018, Hamilton took notice of her hard work with local youth and named her Hamilton’s Citizen of the Year. Pastor Shaq spearheads a job and mentoring program for youth during the summer, and she is the pastor for the Truth & life Community Church. Hamilton is lucky to have motivated individuals like Pastor Shaq!
- Ohio Magazine – Best Hometowns Issue
- Hamilton was selected, among five total cities, as one of Ohio Magazine’s Best Hometowns. Based on evaluations on community spirit, education, entertainment, health and safety, business environment, and culture and heritage, Hamilton was chosen as a great place to live, work, and visit. The first spread will be in November 2019, with two more following next year in January and July.
- Hamilton Police Officer Tony Sora – award of excellence from MADD
- Taking an initiative in the community for work is one thing, but taking steps outside of work to continue that is another thing all together. Officer Tony Sora of the Hamilton Police Department is the epitome of what the Mothers Against Drunk Driving were looking for when selecting a 2019 winner for their award of excellence. Well done Officer Sora!
- Joanne Wallisch – Hamilton Vision Commission 2019 Vision Awards – Play
- Our community is only as good as those who make it so, and with Joanne Wallisch on Hamilton’s team, the opportunities are endless. The Hamilton Vision Commission thought the same thing. That’s why they selected her as the winner of the 2019 Vision Award in the Play category, for her work in the neighborhoods of Hamilton.
- Municipal Brew Works – Ohio Fruit Brewery of the Year
- Municipal Brew Works cleaned up shop at the 2019 New York International Beer Competition, bringing home several bronze and silver medals, as well as a gold medal in the fruit beer category for the Orange Agave Blonde. The brewery will be brewing a special beer that will be served at the 17 Strong Bridging Neighborhoods even on September 29th from 4pm-7pm.
- Pyramid Hill – Best Christmas Light Display 2018
- Christmas isn’t complete without seeing quality Christmas lights. Cincinnati Magazine honored Pyramid Hill as one of the 2018 Top Five holiday light shows in the region. With two miles of gorgeous twinklers, Pyramid Hill has become a holiday time tradition.
