The Fourth of July is always a passion-filled, patriotic time here in the City of Hamilton; from the parade to patriotic activities around the city, you are sure to find plenty of fun, food, and… fireworks! This year, watch the Hamilton Independence Day fireworks from one of the spots that give you a great view.
Locals have weighed in with the best places to watch the Fireworks, which are usually launched near the Great Miami River so that they are visible all over town. However, we have a few suggestions from our readers about the best possible locations from which to watch the dazzling display.
•Riversedge Amphitheater is a favorite, since there are also free concerts happening all evening: the special guests for the evening will be Chris Robinson Brotherhood with Dumpstaphunk, so catch some tunes before the big kabooms later that evening.
•Many people love Veteran’s Park on New London Road for its optimal elevation and plentiful parking, as well as shelters for any untimely sprinkles. This is a particularly good option if you have children who might want to play on the playground before dusk settles.
•On top of the downtown McDulin Parking Garage is an open space that is perfect for watching the fireworks: Park5! Established as a nice space up above the fray, you’ll be above the “skyline” of the city for a great view of the fireworks and the town too.
•Marcum Park, with wide open spaces and the popular sculptural water fountain where children can play, is also a good option within earshot of the Riversedge music. Take advantage of the pretty lawn and spread out a blanket.
•The Fitton Center for the Arts, on the edge of the riverfront bike trail on Monument Avenue, makes for a beautiful vantage point for both the beauty of the river and the impressive fireworks. Take an evening bike ride first and find your perfect spot up or down the bike path.
