Quincy Sims-Marshall
Number one on the field and the athlete tasked with running the Big Blue’s highly potent offense. Hamilton might have the most talented offense in the Greater Miami Conference. Between Keyshawn Stephens, Kaleb Johnson, Malik Verdon and Daryan Bowling, the quarterback Simms-Marshall might fall into the back of several opponents’ scouting reports– which would be a catastrophic mistake. QSM finished fourth in the GMC in passing yards, eclipsing 1,200 yards and 12 touchdown passes, which was good for second-most in the league. Add in another passing target in Verdon, and Simms-Marshall is poised to sling it across the yard all fall.
Jayden Carter
The Badin Rams are coming off what could be their best football season of the century. This fall they will look to repeat that success, after losing most of their skill players due to graduation. Who they didn’t lose is the defensive presence of D-linemen Jayden Carter. The incoming senior was named first-team all-GCL coed in 2019. The highlight of his season being not one, but two pick-sixes.
Hannah Sawyer
She might not just be one of the best soccer players in the GMC, but she could top the list in the entire Cincinnati area. No one besides Sawyer has had at least 13 goals in each of the past three seasons. In 2019 she finished third in the league in scoring when she only played in 11 of the Big Blue’s 18 games.
Jordan Jones
A lot has been said about the Big Blue’s offense, which will undoubtedly be electric. The question remains, how the defense will do. Hamilton graduated Luke Mattia and Jayden Marshall on the defensive side of the ball. This fall, senior Jordan Jones will have to carry the load. In 2019 he finished third on the team with 76 tackles. You can make the case that JJ was snubbed in GMC All-Conference honors last season, but you can guarantee that won’t happen this time around.
Paige Long
You could make the case that girls soccer has the strongest history at Badin. Each year they’re not only competing for the league crown, but also District and regional titles. Long led the Rams in scoring as a junior with 7 goals in 2019. She’ll be a huge piece in the Rams continued success this season.
Braden Hubbard
The Greater Miami Conference just might be the best prep golf league in the state of Ohio. As a junior, Hubbard finished the fall with second-team honors in the GMC. He capped his season by scoring an 82 at sectionals, which pitted him in a playoff for a spot in Districts. As a senior, he will look to break through and earn a spot at districts.
Conner Young
The heart of every football team in the offensive line, and Conner Young is no different for the Rams. The question mark going into last fall was the offensive line and Young, amongst others, answered the bell. In 2020, that line will be their strength. Young, who plays center, will be literally and figuratively in the middle of their offense.
Emma Kollstedt
Sawyer isn’t the only four-year starter for the Big Blue. Kollstedt has been a staple on the defensive end for them since her freshman year. She received first-team All-GMC honors last fall and plans to repeat as she anchors the backline in 2020. After three straight winning seasons in the GMC, the Big Blue are gearing for a charge towards the top of the standings, and Kollstedt is going to be a big part of that.
Andrew Larkin
He He might be known for his play on the hardwood, but you shouldn’t sleep on Larkin’s play out on the links. As a junior, he and Nick Young were tabbed 3rd team all GCL Coed. This year he hopes to regain that success as Badin looks to climb up from their 5th place finish in 2019.
Aaron Truett
For the past two seasons Aaron Truett has found himself on the All-Conference team in the GMC, and for good reason. The soon-to-be four-year starter had five goals last season from the mid-field, which any soccer player will tell you is no easy feat. In fact, after scoring three goals as a freshman in 2017 he increased his season totals each subsequent season. Will he top it again in 2020?
